Award document grouping to Obergefreiter Karl Schmidleitner, a pioneer who fought on the Eastern (Pionier-Bataillon 745) and Western fronts (Pionier-Bataillon 219 of the 183. Volksgrenadier-Division). It consists of:  

  • Ostmedaille, 1942.  
  • Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse, 1943. Nice layout of the 3. Panzerarmee.   
  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz, for his first wound in December 1943.  
  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber, for a single, heavy wound sustained on 8th of October 1944 in the area of Aachen.  
  • Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse awarded in Dresden, January 1945, undoubtly also following the heavy wound in October 1944. Signed by General Leopold von Schwedler, Ritterkreuztr├Ąger.
