Soldbuch grouping to Stabsgefreiter Theodor Pürkhauer from Eger, now Cheb, Czech Republic. Serving with a number of Flak and transport units from 1939 to 1944, Pürkhauer first served with a Fallschirmjäger unit mid March 1944: the Flakkolonne of the rather obscure "Fallschirmjäger-Flakabteilung I (mot.)", probably related to the later Fallschirm-Flak-Abteilung 1 attached to the 1. Fallschirmjäger-Division raised in southern France. After this FJ transport unit and an intermezzo with two other units, he moved to Fallschirm-Flak-Abteilung 6 (mot.) in August 1944, and then finally reformed into the Falschirm-Flak-Abteilung 7 (mot.) in Holland, October 1944. Pürkhauer was licensed as a halftrack driver and undoubtly he towed the 8,8 cm guns of his unit on the Western Front.

With the 7. Fallschirmjäger-Division, Pürkhauer fought on the Maas bridgehead in Venlo, Holland, late 1944. He received a final promotion there to Stabsgefreiter in December 1944. Early January 1945, they were moved from the Venlo - Bergen area to the front in northeast France, where the 7.FJD suffered heavy losses in the area of Hagenau. They were moved back to the Venlo area at the end of January 1945, but it is likely that Pürkhauer already entered Allied captivity in France, as there are no further entries after December 1944. The POW number A407604 is written in the back of the Soldbuch.

The grouping consists of:

  • Soldbuch, first issue from August 1939, complete except for the portrait photo.
  • Wehrmacht-Führerschein, issued March 1941 without portrait photo, extended to halftrack vehicles in August 1944.
  • Arbeitsbuch with work experience on the railway stations of Marktredwitz and Wunsiedel before joining the Wehrmacht in 1938.
  • Reisepass, December 1932, with removed portrait but packed with entries on crossing the Czech border.
