Soldbuch grouping to Oberjäger Paul Eder. This son of an Austrian Reichsbahn employee joined the Wehrmacht around his 18th birthday in early 1944. He was trained as a Gebirgsjäger in Innsbruck, and then forwarded to the 6. Kompanie of Reserve-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 136 in June 1944. This regiment was deployed in northeast Italy with the 188. Reserve-Gebirgs-Division, and was involved in anti-partisan warfare in the mountain areas of Belluno, Tarvisio and Gorizia.
The small but fantastic "Bandenkampftage" anti-partisan combat day list at the back of the Soldbuch mentions two operations in particular: on 8th of October 1944 in Tarnova, and the next day in Loqua. Tarnova is now called Trnovo (Nova Gorica) in Slovenia, Loqua is the nearby Lokve, both just east of the border city Gorizia. Eder entered hospital in Kufstein in December 1944 and was found fit again late January 1945. He ended the war in officer training.
The Soldbuch is in complete and very good condition, including a great portrait photo in late M44 Feldbluse, the rare anti-partisan list and equipment entries such as tropical uniform. It comes with the following extras:
- Notebook "Notizheft", in which he kept all the dates of his outgoing and incoming mail in 1944-'45.
- Rare Ausweis by the Platzkommandatur Venedig, allowing him to visit the city in August 1944.
- Wehrpass to his father Paul Eder, with nice portrait photo in Reichsbahn uniform, minimal entries but perfect condition, plus a cardboard cover and two "Wehrpass-Notiz" documents.
- Bescheinigung confirming his return home in Markt Kuchl, May 1945, plus temporary registration document from June 1945.
- Two pieces of dried Edelweiss.
Rare Italy related anti-partisan grouping!
