Award document for the Eiserne Kreuz 2. Klasse to Gefreiter Wilhelm Gärtner, who served with III./ Artillerie-Regiment 363 of the 363. Volksgrenadier-Division in March 1945. In the two weeks prior to this award, the 363.VGD had retreated from the Jülich area on the Westwall to the east bank of the Rhein at Leverkusen, north of Köln.  

Citation in very good condition, folded, not punched, with excellent hand signature by divisional commander Generalmajor Alois Weber, Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves winner.
