Soldbuch to Gefreiter Max Kaminski. First issue from May 1942, when the 36 year old was trained with a Landesschützen unit in Hildesheim. Soon after, Kaminski was sent to the 2. Kompanie of the Wachregiment Paris 2, newly formed in July 1942 and occupying the French capital, including the key political and historical buildings. Notably the daily parades related to the changing of the guard ceremony of the Wachregiment were an often photographed attraction.  

September 1942, this regiment was reformed into Sicherungs-Regiment 5, and continued its occupation duties in the area of Gross-Paris. Kaminski continued to serve here until after the D-Day invasion; his regiment was destroyed after the outbreak from Normandy and officially dissolved in October 1944. Kaminski did escape from France, notice the September 1944 security stamp on page 15 by the LXVII. Armeekorps which retreated from northern France towards Belgium and Holland. By the end of the year, he had joined Sanitäts-Kompanie (mot.) 1180, newly formed for the 180. Infanterie-Division, active on the Dutch-German border (Venlo, later Wesel).   

The Soldbuch is in very good and complete condition, including a nice portrait photo taken in front of his barracks. The cover is loose. It comes with his oilcloth DRK Personalausweis, issued in March 1945 as Krankenträger.
