Soldbuch to Feldwebel Gerhard Benecke. First issue from September 1939. Benecke worked for several years with the pilots schools attached to the Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment 21 in Magdeburg, and the Flugzeugführerschule A/B 124 in Metz, France. He served as the unit's bookkeeper, "Rechnungsführer".  

In May 1943, his quiet days behind the front were over and he was sent to Jäger-Regiment 9, part of the 5. Luftwaffen-Felddivision on the southern section of the Eastern Front (Krim, Melitopol, Schwarzmeer, Nikolajew, Odessa, ...). With his division destroyed in Bessarabia in May 1944, Benecke was among the survivors of the 5. Feld-Division (L) who were absorbed by the 76. Infanterie-Division during its rebuilding on the Dnjestr river. First with the divisional staff during the retreat through Romania (Jassy, Siebenbürgen) into Hungary, Benecke ended the war with Grenadier-Regiment 203, also part of the 76.ID during the final battles in Slovakia. He was awarded the KVKII mit Schwertern in April 1944.  

The Soldbuch is in very good and complete condition. Interesting entries include summer and winter uniform pieces, a Tarnjacke, and the Führerpaket followed by the remark "Sekt erhalten" on page 21.
