- Soldbuch to Gefreiter Heinrich Dietl. After some time with schwere Flak-Abteilung 606 and a short move to the 18. Luftwaffen-Felddivision late 1942, he was sent to Africa in January 1943 with the Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 1 of the elite Fallschirm-Panzer-Division Hermann Göring. After a few months of fighting with the Afrikakorps, he entered the Feldlazarett 667 in Tunis on 23rd of April 1943 - likely after a wound. He was immediately forwarded to another Ortslazarett on African soil where he received a last pay early May 1943. The last dated entry is a vaccination on 19th of May or June 1943 - this was likely entered in American captivity. Since there are no further entries and he is not listed as KIA, it is safe to say that Heinrich Dietl entered Allied capitivity with the destruction of his division in May 1943 and the surrender of the DAK.
- The Soldbuch has had the cover repaired, the pages are loose from the cover but still 100% complete. A portrait photo was never inserted - as normal for an Africa POW. It comes with his Facharbeiterbrief from the steel industry along with two additional documents.
