• Soldbuch to Grenadier Karl Stöger. Zweitschrift issue started in July 1944. Stöger was a very young guy born in 1926 who had already been wounded by a bullet in March 1944, even before he turned 18. After he was released from hospital and joined his Ersatz unit, Stöger was handed out this Soldbuch. During the final weeks of the war, he joined Grenadier-Regiment 287, part of the 96. Infanterie-Division. This division surrendered to US troops in the area of Freistadt (Austria), though most of the POW's of this division were handed over by the Americans to the Russians. This is most likely what happened to Stöger as well.
  • The Soldbuch is in a good and complete condition, and has the Verwundetenabzeichen entered. It has a very nice photo of the young Stöger, wearing a late-war Feldbluse and field cap.
