- Soldbuch to Marineartillerie-Obergefreiter Heinrich Thyron. First issue started in October 1942, while serving with Marine-Artillerie-Abteilung 201, at that time serving on the Atlantikwall in the area of the Noord-Holland province, between Den Helder and Den Haag. By the end of the year, he was transfered to Marine-Artillerie-Abteilung 262, serving in the area of Brest, France. After the Allied landing in Normandy, he was surrounded in the Festung Brest, one of the Atlantikwall fortresses. The fortress did not last as long as most others, though. Commanding general Ramcke surrendered the city on 19th of September 1944 after intense fighting with the Americans and British. Since he is not listed as a KIA, we can be almost Heinrich Thyron surrendered on that day as well. The last dated entry in the Soldbuch is his promotion on September 10th, 1944.
