- Posthumous Zweitschrift Wehrpass, opened in April 1942, to Stabs-Oberfeldwebel Ernst Ruttkowski. He was a professional soldier who joined the Marine back in 1920, and was awarded the Dienstauszeichnung III. and IV. Klasse. As a munition expert, he joined the Sperrwaffenkommando of Boulogne, and later that of Le Havre after the invasion of France. These units were responsible for defensive mine operations. On 17th of November 1941, he was KIA in an accident in Port-Navalo, situated on the coast of Bretagne. He is now buried in Pornichet.
- Given his deployment, it is likely he was killed in a mine explosion or similar munition related accident. Worthy of further research!
- Wehrpass in excellent and complete condition. A portrait photo was never inserted.
