- Wehrpass to Hans-Dieter Wittmann, who joined the Wehrmacht after completing his RAD service in July 1943. He received an extensive half year training, most notably as a sniper - see the "Zielfernrohrgewehr" entry on page 22! He was then sent to the Narwa Front to fight with the elite Panzer-Grenadier-Division Feldherrnhalle in February 1944. He was first a few weeks with the "Bataillon Rutzke", named after the DKiG winning Hauptmann Paul Rutzke, later commander of the Grenadier-Regiment Feldherrnhalle. Then, he joined Füsilier-Regiment Feldherrnhalle early March 1944. But after two weeks, Wittmann was KIA in Auvere, west of Narva, Estonia, on 17th of March 1944 - only 18 years old.
