- Soldbuch to Oberzahlmeister Josef Frohlich, issued in August 1939 when he was an Uffizier in Nachrichten-Abteilung 38, part of the 2. Panzer-Division. The unit pages 3-4 and 17-18 have been removed from the Soldbuch, as well as the awards page 21-22, but his history can still be retraced for some part. After fighting with the 2. Panzer-Division, the Vienna born Austrian Frohlich became an administrative officer in backward units, but by January 1944 he was with Panzer-Ersatz-Abteilung 33, a replacement unit mostly supplying that other Austrian armoured division, the 9. Panzer-Division. The last entry in the Soldbuch is a vaccination on August 15th, 1944. This would suggest he may have been sent to Normandy with the 9.Pz.Div. as the division was almost destroyed there mid August 1944, though another entry states he was still in Vienna mid July 1944.
- The Soldbuch has seen some water damage and is missing the pages as described above. A nice portrait photo is still present.
