- Soldbuch to Schütze Klemens Grundei, who was an 18-year-old car mechanic in Berlin when he was called up in August 1943. He was trained as a Panzeraufklärer and eventually sent to Italy to fight with the Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 190 of the 90. Panzergrenadier-Division. He arrived no earlier than April 1944, and must have been on time to participate in the Fourth Battle of Cassino. In fact it is very likely that he was taken POW in this battle, as the last entry in the Solbuch is on May 11th, 1944. This is backed up by the low POW number 314.145 written on the Soldbuch cover.
- A very nice detail is the Sardinienschild award leaflet attached to the inside of the back cover. It is correctly stamped by the Panz.Aufkl.Abt.190.
- The Soldbuch is in good condition, complete with all pages. The portrait photo does not show traces of staples going through it, so appears to have been replaced.
