• Soldbuch to SS-Mann Michael Hopfer, who died of typhus in a Reservelazarett in Graz, Austria, on 21st of October 1941. He was first with the 4. Ersatz-Kompanie of Der Führer, then with the "4. Kompanie SS-Totenkopf-Sturmbann Gusen (Oberdonau)". These men formed the staff of the concentration camp of Gusen in Austria, and Hopfer would also be guarding the better known neighbouring camp KZ Mauthausen as well, as can be seen on the rare stamp of the leave on page 23.
  • Soldbuch in excellent and complete condition. A portrait photo was never inserted, as normal for a soldier who died early in the war.
