- Soldbuch to Gefreiter Max Nader. The Soldbuch was opened in December 1943 - undoubtly the by then 41-year old Nader had previously avoided mobilisation as he was a coal miner. He was trained by the Reserve-Artillerie-Abteilung 26, and by February 1944 this Abteilung was incorporated as the I. Abteilung of Artillerie-Regiment 147 in the 47. Infanterie-Division. On 12th of October 1944, he was with Feldersatz-Bataillon 147 of the now renamed 47. Volksgrenadier-Division. Little later he must have been thrown into battle with the 47.VGD: the division fought fiercely in the area of the Hürtgenwald east of Aachen, and on 22nd of November 1944 he was processed by the Americans as a POW.
- The Soldbuch is a 100% complete with all pages and in good condition. A portrait photo was never applied; his POW identity document was attached to the inside cover.
