• Soldbuch to Leutnant Siegfried Traxler. First issue from October 1939. This Austrian engineer, living in Arnsdorf near Krems, joined Aufklärer units of the Luftwaffe after following a technical course in Wiener-Neustadt. From January 1941 to June 1942, he was with the 6. (H) Staffel of Aufklärungs-Gruppe 32 (Pz.). This reconnaissance group flew missions on the Eastern Front (Orscha, Orel, ...). Traxler later served for over two years with the staff of Nahaufklärungsgruppe 15, the mother unit of his previous Staffel, still operating on the Eastern Front: Orel, Mogilew, Bobruisk, Brest-Litowsk, ...
  • As his unit retreated from the East, Traxler was allowed into an officer course of the Luftkriegsschule 9 and was promoted to Leutnant in January 1945. He appears to have survived the war.
  • The Soldbuch is in a very used condition, with some loose pages and missing page 21-22. The photo appears restapled, but original to the Soldbuch. Notice the uncommon light blue color of the cover.
