• Soldbuch to Grenadier Erwin Irlweck. This young Vienna resident was called up with the elite Hoch-und-Deutschmeister division at the age of 16! From his training unit located in Strebersdorf (Austria), he ended up serving with Granatwerfer-Bataillon 44 of the H.u.D. in the winter of 1944-'45. He was issued a Luger P.08 pistol and sent with his unit to fight on the Hungarian front. There, on 21st of March 1945, he was shot by a Russian bullet in the back during the defensive battles on the Balaton lake (Plattensee). Irlweck was evacuated, ended up in a hospital in his Austrian home town Wien and appears to have survived the war.
  • The Soldbuch is in a very good and complete condition, including a photo of the young Grenadier. It comes with two extra documents from the Reservelazarett XXI in Wien, also providing more detail on his wound.
