- Soldbuch to Gefreiter Georg Kofler. This Austrian farmer from Kärnten was trained with Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 139 in 1942, then joined the 14. Kompanie of Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 in 1943. With this unit, he was retreated from the Eastern Front to Italy in November 1943, and saw action against the invading Allies on the Reinhard Line, on the Rapido river, then from mid January 1944 on the Gustav Line. Kofler participated in the battles for Monte Cassino, and was wounded there in May 1944. It was a minor wound as he could stay with his unit, but due to various medical issues he ended up in hospital after the retreat from Cassino, and likely didn't make it to the front again.
- An accompanying document from a doctor of Geb.Jäg.Ers.Rgt.139 in Klagenfurt grants him permisson to loosen the top button of his Feldbluse, because he had medical problems with his throat.
- The Soldbuch is in a very good and complete condition, including the portrait photo. Also notice the uncommon Gewehr 33/40 weapon entry.
