- Wehrpass to SS Rottenführer Kurt Niegel. First issue from April 1936. After basis military training in 1937, he was called up again in November 1939 to serve with Polizei-Regiment 3. He served on the Westwall and in France in 1940, and now under the renamed Polizei-Schützen-Regiment 3 on the northern sector of the Eastern Front from mid 1941. Fighting on the Leningrad front, the regiment would be incorporated by the SS as SS-Polizei-Schützen-Regiment 3 and Niegel's rank was changed from Obergefreiter to SS-Rottenführer in February 1942.
- Niegel saw a lot of action against Russian partisans and the regular Russian army, and was wounded three times : in December 1941 by shrapnel in the shoulder, in January by a shot trough his neck, and in September 1942 in the right thigh. He was less lucky on 10th of February 1943, when he was killed on the Leningrad front. His body could not be retrieved and is missing since. He was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz, the Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber, the Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber, the Ostmedaille and the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse.
