• Soldbuch to Oberschütze Georg Iger. First issue from April 1940. Iger was trained with the Ersatz-Bataillon of Polizei-Schützen-Regiment 2, first at Wehlau (Eastern Prussia), later in Roermond, Holland. He then joined the 4. Kompanie of Polizei-Schützen-Regiment 2 and was sent with this unit to the Northern sector of the Eastern front. There, the SS-Polizei-Division would be engaged in heavy combat in the Luga area, starting their attack on August 1st, 1941. Nine days later, Oberschütze Iger was killed in the village of Smerdi, near Luga, on 10th of August 1941.
  • The Soldbuch is a 100% complete and in very good condition. Notice the riveted portrait photo, which has not been signed or stamped, but is a 100% original. It is curious to see a portrait photo in such an early KIA Soldbuch; it may have been added posthumously - but in either case wartime. The back of the portrait shows original writing including Iger's name and birth date.
