- Wehrpass to Stabsgefreiter Rudi Lehne. First issue from September 1938. A Berlin based tailor in daily life, Lehne also served as a barber in the battallion workshop of his reserve unit at the beginning of the war. Notice the neat tailored suit he is wearing in the portrait photo!
- In October 1940, he joined Infanterie-Regiment 466 of the 257. Infanterie-Division in occupied Poland. He managed to stay away from the front and moved to occupied France for several years, mainly with Nachrichten-Abteilung 23 of the 23.ID, then with Panzer-Nachrichten-Abteilung 93 of the newly erected 26. Panzer-Division from October 1942.
- With the 26.PD, he moved to Italy and saw his first active fighting in the South, notably in the defense against the Salerno (1943) and Anzio (1944) landings. Lehne followed the retreat of his division to Northern Italy and was awarded the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse there in September 1944. He appears to have survived the war.
