- Soldbuch to Obergefreiter Hermann Johann from Traiskirchen, Austria. Zweitschrift issue from February 1945. Johann had been serving in the Wehrmacht since at least 1941. He was awarded the Ostmedaille and the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz for a wound sustained in 1944. After his release from hospital, he was sent to an Ersatz unit and given this new Soldbuch. During the last months of the war, he was deemed unfit for further front service, and finished the war with Landesschützen-Bataillon 879, guarding POW's in the area of Vienna, Austria. Not much later, the roles were turned around and Johann was made POW by the Western allies himself.
- The Soldbuch is in an excellent condition, with all pages complete and fixed, and a nice portrait photo of Johann showing his Ostmedaille and Verwundetenabzeichen awards. Also notice the great entry for a Spanish "Astra" pistol with 16 shots of ammunition.
