- Soldbuch to Obergrenadier Viktor Wipp. First issue Soldbuch started in January 1944, when the then only 17 year old Wipp was admitted to the training units of the elite Grossdeutschland division. He was trained as a machine gunner and was finally added to the 12. Kompanie of the Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment Grossdeutschland, early September 1944. He fought with the GD division in the very hard battles in Eastern Prussia during fall 1944. After a New Year's Eve leave, he moved to the 4. Kompanie of the Panzer-Regiment Grossdeutschland, until he was finally wounded a few weeks later by shrapnell during the Siege of Memel on 26th of January 1945, one day before the fall of the city. He spent the remainder of the war in hospital, and was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz.
- The Soldbuch is in an excellent condition, complete with all pages fixed. It comes with a nice Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz award document which confirms his unit as Panzer-Regiment Grossdeutschland at the time he was wounded. Most likely this unit change from the Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment to the Panzer-Regiment was not entered in the Soldbuch because it happened very shortly before he was wounded and left the division for good.
