- Wehrpass to Zahlmeister Michael Raum. First issue from October 1938. This München based employee was called up by Infanterie-Regiment 63 in Ingolstadt, May 1939. After two months of basic infantry training, he moved to Schützen-Regiment 2 in Wien. As part of the 2. Panzer-Division, he fought in the Polish campaign, until he was wounded on 23rd of September 1939 in combat in the area of Krasnobrod - Tomaszow Lubelski, south of Zamosc. Raum recovered from his wound, but would never see the front again. He served as junior administrative officer (Zahlmeister) in a number of units, mostly the Heimatveterinärpark 7 in Munich and the POW camp Oflag XVIII-A in Lienz, Austria, finishing the war with the Lehrstab zbV der Artillerie-Schule II in Jüterbog. Raum was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz for his Poland wound, and a KVKII mit Schwertern in 1943.
