- Wehrpass to Gefreiter Friedrich Hollich. First issue from October 1939. Called up by the Wehrmacht just before the invasion of Russia in June 1941, Hollich joined Schützen-Regiment 69 of the 10. Panzer-Division after his basic training in September 1941. He reinforced the regiment during its fighting near Wjasma, on the central sector of the Eastern Front. After a few weeks of fighting, he was badly wounded by shrpanel in his left hand and upper arm. After some time in hospital, his left arm had to be amputated. Hollich was released from the Heer with three combat awards: the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz, which was later upgraded to a Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber, combined with the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse.
