Wehrpass to Gefreiter Nikol Böhm. First issue from February 1937. Working as a Reichsbahn employee in Oberfranken, this WWI veteran was called up in the general mobilisation of August 1939 to serve with schwere Artillerie-Abteilung 649 (mot.), an independent heavy artillery unit active on the Westwall, last in the Merzig sector. He then participated in the attack on the Maginot line near Völklingen, and pushed with his unit over the Rhine into the Vosges mountains. In July 1940, he was released because of his age. Böhm was awarded the EKII and the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz for his WWI service.
