- Soldbuch to Obergefreiter Johann Funk. His sole active unit after joining the Wehrmacht in June 1941 was the "Technische Bataillon 43 (Tropen)", a specialised pioneer unit originally built for deployment in Africa. They were sent to the Eastern Front instead, where Funk earned the Ostmedaille. By 1943 they were in Greece, and late 1944 they retreated through Yugoslavia. Arriving in the Heimat in December 1944, the Bataillon also saw action on the Western Front during the last months of the war. It was last deployed with the 81. Armeekorps on the Niederrhein near Leverkusen. Funk earned the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse in the West and was ultimately captured by the Allies.
- Soldbuch in very good and complete condition, comes with a POW document and six private photos of Funk.
