- Soldbuch to Obergefreiter Ernst Böttiger. Interestingly, he was born in Metz - nowadays France. Notice the "Frk." for Frankreich was erased on page 2 as the city became part of the German Reich again after the invasion in 1940. After an ear inflammation and despite surgery, Böttiger was partly deaf. He was therefore sent to serve with the Reserve-Bataillon (o) 284, the "o" standing for ohrenkrank - a unit formed with soldiers suffering from ear problems. This Bataillon served in occupied Denmark and was sent to Slovakia during the last months of the war, where it fought against the Russians within the 15. Infanterie-Division.
- The Soldbuch is a 100% complete, in excellent condition, and comes with his POW discharge document.
