- Soldbuch to Jakob Boos, a front line soldier who mostly saw action with Infanterie-Regiment 188, part of the 68. Infanterie-Division which fought in the Tscherkassy area, Isjum, the Hube Kessel and other places on the Southern Sector of the Eastern Front. He suffered from frostbite in both feet during the first winter in the East. After a wound late August 1944 (Beskiden area), he was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz. Only three weeks later he was wounded again. After his recovery, Boos was issued the Sturmgewehr 44 and fought with Festungs-Regiment 1. He earned the EKII in March 1945 and survived the war.
- The Soldbuch is missing page 1/2, pages and cover are loose and in very used condition, but packed with entries. It comes with numerous additional documents from during the war and the Allied occupation time. Not all documents are shown here (including his French POW discharge document).
