- Wehrpass to Feldwebel Ewald Hünlein. First issue from February 1938. After a career in the infantry until 1941 Hünlein was picked out of the Heer to go through fighter pilot training. His first active unit was the 3. Staffel of Jagdgeschwader 105 from January to March 1943 in Villacoublay, France. He was then sent to the Northern Front to fly with the prestigious 14. (Jabo) Staffel of Jagdgeschwader 5. This Staffel of the "Eismeer-Geschwader" was formed early 1943 for specific Jagdbomber missions, mainly against shipping in the Arctic waters. They flew on very low altitude with modified Focke Wulf Fw 190 fighters and were quite succesfull, sinking 2 Russian submarines and a number of other ships in May 1943.
- On 18th of June 1943, Hünlein was attacking a Russian ship in his Fw 190 A-3 "Schwarze 9", when he hit the mast of the vessel and crashed to his death. His body was never found. Hünlein was posthumously awarded the Frontflugspange in Bronze for his missions with 14./JG5.
- Wehrpass in excellent and complete condition, with an extra paper cover from the Wehrmeldeamt Lichtenfels added when the Wehrpass was sent home to his widow. A rare opportunity for a KIA fighter pilot Wehrpass to a very interesting unit!
